‘I can no longer be an executive at a high level’: Workers with disabilities, including long COVID, are finding their place as companies become more flexible
On one hand, COVID has significantly affected employment levels for people suffering from the debilitating effects of long COVID.
Yet, in contrast, employers are becoming more flexible and inclusive as they adapt to the needs of workers experiencing long COVID health issues and other disabilities.
Diane Winiarski, Allsup Employment Services (AES) director, explains that while the unemployment rate for people with disabilities remains high – 6% in November 2022 – this new year could be favorable to workers with disabilities.
